Chichester Fencing Club would like to say a huge thank-you to all those fencers who turned up to support the inaugural City Of Chichester Open. We hope you had a great time and that you will come again next year!
Here is a list of the results of all the weekend's events. Congratulations to everyone who took part!
We would also like to thank all those people who came along to help, both on the day and beforehand, such as all the guys who helped set up the pistes, all the great referees, Maggie Maynard for all her excellent administration skills, Herman for his healing hands, our wonderful armourers without whom nothing much would happen, Graham and Andy in the shop and the truly magnificent John and Edith Haynes who make DT seem wonderfully easy and who should run every competition because nobody could do it any better!
We would also like to thank the Council and all their lovely representatives without whom it would not have been possible to run the competition. Special thanks particularly go to Amy, Ben and Sarah for their constant help, advice and support.
We were very lucky to have a venue that not only suited the competition perfectly, but had such fabulous staff who were lovely and helpful all weekend; particular thanks must go to Kevin, Tammy and Julie for all their support and efforts to accommodate us in every aspect necessary.
Thanks also to our supporters and sponsors, Premier Inn, Jackson Stops and Staff, Mistral Racing, Chichester Festival Theatre and Meritz Sports who all gave fantastic prizes and turned up on the day to present the prizes and support the event as they have kindly done from the beginning.
But the biggest thanks must go to all the Chichester Fencing Club members who turned up on both days and ran themselves ragged making the competition run smoothly, efficiently and hopefully happily. I have never been so proud of our members as I was that weekend, so huge thanks, hugs and kisses go to George Barrett, Tom Rusbridge, Matthew Callen, Andrew Norris, Peter Beadle, Vivien Mills, Jonathan Pett, Jamie Kirk, Charlotte Homan, Trudy Jago, Leo Solti and Maciej Pulaczewski; you are the best!
